Dublin Texas

Dublin, Texas

Dublin, TX  is a city located in Erath County.  At the time of the 2000 census, the population in Dublin, TX was 3,754.

The town is home to the world's oldest Dr Pepper bottling plant ( Dublin Dr Pepper). The plant is still in operation, and for many years was the only US source for Dr Pepper made with real cane sugar instead of high fructose corn syrup, which is less expensive.  Contractual agreements had previously limited the plant's distribution range to within a 40-mile radius of Dublin.  Which is an area encompassing Stephenville, TX; Comanche, TX; Tolar, TX; and Hico, TX. However, this restriction has been removed, and people can not get the "original" formula in most of Texas and over the Internet.

Dublin was also the childhood home of golf legend Ben Hogan, who was born August 13, 1912, at the hospital in Stephenville, TX. Ben Hogan lived in Dublin until 1921, when he and his family moved to Fort Worth.
